Northwest Travis County Information & Resources

Lake Travis anchors this entire region with weekend and permanent residents in the Lakeway, Lago Vista , Jonestown , Briar Cliff and Barton Creek communities, to name a few. Many locations offer gorgeous Lake Travis waterfront homes and weekend bungalows, waterfront parks, recreation centers, and more. Lake Travis neighborhoods include Volente, Point Venture, Grandview Hills, Highland Lake Estates, Twin Creeks, Cypress Canyon, Bella Vista, Country Club Estates, Crystal Falls, Lakeway, Briar Cliff, Barton Creek Lakeside, Spicewood, Marshall Ford, Flint Rock Falls, Spanish Oaks, Costa Bella, and St. Andrews. Gated lakefront communities include Costa Bella, The Ridge at Alta Vista, Hills of Lakeway, and Vineyard Bay. The Hill Country Galleria shopping center is located here on Highway 71.

Subdivisions closer-in to Austin include Steiner Ranch, River Place, Jester Estates, Long Canyon, Westminster Glen, Glen Lake, Shepherd Mountain, and Green Shores. The area is served by Lakeline Mall. Portions of the Balcones Canyon Land Preserve are here, saving much of Austin’s Hill Country for our enjoyment..

Northwest golf courses include Twin Creeks, River Place Country Club, The University of Texas Club at Steiner Ranch. Lakeway has several golf courses including The Hills Country Club, Jack Nicklaus, Yaupon, Live Oak, and Lakeway courses. Lago Vista golf course is on the north side of the lake.

Mansfield Dam, which forms the base of Lake Travis, is operated by the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA). The lake offers year-round outdoor water actives and restaurants with great sunset and lake views.
